WhatsApp Notifications & Privacy Update
Privacy
- Added optional WhatsApp notification feature. Users can connect their WhatsApp number to receive spending summaries, large transaction alerts, and AI-powered weekly insights via WhatsApp Business.
- Phone numbers provided for WhatsApp notifications are stored securely on Pennyway's cloud infrastructure (AWS) and used solely to deliver opted-in notifications.
- The weekly AI insights notification sends transaction data (dates, descriptions, amounts, categories) to the AI provider to generate personalised insights. This is disclosed in the updated privacy policy (Section 6).
- WhatsApp messages are delivered via the Meta WhatsApp Business API. Message content is processed by Meta in accordance with WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.
- All WhatsApp notification types are individually opt-in and can be disabled at any time from Settings.
- Privacy policy updated: added Section 6 (WhatsApp notifications), updated highlight box and data retention section, renumbered subsequent sections.
